Abya Yala was a 2022 New York Latin American Art Triennial exhibition presented on Governors Island, NY. The exhibition used the term “Abya Yala” as a starting point for exploring identity, Indigenous roots, ancestral practices, inherited methodologies, material traditions, and their relationship to contemporary art across the Americas.

Wildriana Paulino participated in the 2022 New York Latin American Art Triennial as its youngest artist. Her installation Maternity Figure / Figura materna was exhibited in the Triennial on Governors Island. The work used paper, hair, soil, and wool to create an immersive spiral form engaging the body, the earth, and maternal symbolism.
